The Cost Estimates and Legislative Support Division

The main functions of the The Cost Estimates and Legislative Support Division of the Parliamentary Budget Office are as follow:

• Examination of the cost estimates of the legislative bills provided within the explanatory notes of the draft laws in accordance with the Rules of Procedure of Parliament and expressing corresponding opinions in accordance with the pre-defined and publicly available criteria;
• Costing the legislative bills based on the requests of the Members of Parliament during the elaboration and review of the draft laws as agreed with the requester, considering the existing time and human resources and within its discretionary powers.
• Promoting the use of the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) for the policies initiated within the Parliament, considering existing time and human resources and needs of the MPs as the main stakeholders.
